Introduction – Overview

The RYA/MCA Yachtmaster offshore is competent to skipper a sailing yacht on any passage during which the vessel is no more than 150nM away from harbour.

Your training boat will be ready for you to step on by Saturday 5 p.m.
You will be welcomed, meet your crew and get a first introduction, according to accomodation, use and your safety and the week schedule.

By the end of the week there will be an examination (2 Days)

The course starts on Sunday.

Yachtmaster Offshore Syllabus

Within this week we go through all requested skills for your examination, practical and theoratical and bring you up to your confidence and Assisting for your Passage plan correction if may needed.
Prep.-Week B Examination is set up to repeat and strengthen your skills and knowledge.

Pre-experience

Yachtmaster offshore: 50 days, 2500 miles incl. atleast 5 passages over 60nM measured along the rhumb line of the port of departure to the destination, acting as skipper for atleast 2 of these passages and including two who have involved overnight passages. 5 days experience as skipper. At least half this mileage and passages must have been in tidal waters. All qualifying sea time must be within 10 years prior to the exam.

Candidates must have navigation knowledge to the level up to Yachtmaster shorebased course.
